VOLUNTEERING

The EEGO Foundation is an all-volunteer organization that addresses the issues and concerns of the LGBT community on the East End of Long Island.  What better way to get to know us and our community than by volunteering?  As a volunteer you’ll join the ranks of our generous, hardworking members who have sustained EEGO for more than thirty years.  You can benefit from being part of our team and also have an impact on your community – while meeting new friends and having fun!

There are many opportunities for members to help – with or without specialized skills.

Public Policy – help to keep our members informed of local, state and national issues as well legislation that affects our equal rights. Interface with other organizations such as Empire State Pride Agenda, GLAAD and Lambda Legal Defense.

Communications – ensure that our voices are heard and our activities are known through public relations, advertising and promotional outreach.

Programs – assist in the planning and implementation of our programs and activities or help at events by working at our entrance tables.

Charitable Outreach and Youth Initiative – work with our Chairs to reach out and help others.

Membership – join our committee of dedicated volunteers whose concern is the growth and expansion of our membership, making sure that every individual in our community knows about us and has the opportunity to take part.
